Evaluation of The Impacts of the Thailand Government’s 400-billioin Baht economic and social rehabilitation fund package on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and other global sustainable framework
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Thailand launched a 400-billion Baht Economic and Social Rehabilitation Fund to “build back better” while aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). This study evaluates six projects under the fund, focusing on their sustainability impact. These include: 1) One Tambon One New Theory Agriculture Group, enhancing local economies through sustainable agriculture; 2) Kok Nong Na Model, promoting the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy; 3) Travel Safety Zones for safer tourism; 4) The BCG Model, improving agricultural competitiveness and reducing environmental impact; 5) Cotton Valley Creation, supporting cotton production in Loei Province; and 6) Solar Energy-Based Dried Banana Processing in Pang-Nga Province. The study recommends enhancing project cycles, capacity building, partnerships, and financial sustainability to better align future recovery efforts with the SDGs and NDCs.
